Oral health is an integral part of total health.
It is our mission to decrease dental disease for Maine children.

When a child does not qualify for MaineCare and is in need of restorative or emergency dental care it is determined through a phone call with a parent if seeking treatment is a financial hardship.

Healthy Smiles for ME, Inc. will make an appointment with one of the participating dentists and assume financial responsibility for the  treatment needed.

Deamonte Driver was a 12 year old boy from NJ who died from untreated dental decay in 2007.  His mom could not afford the treatment needed.

To date we have helped 132 children receive treatment.  Average cost for treatment ranges from $98 for a simple extraction to $4564 for treatment in a hospital setting for severe decay.
